The series BAYERISCHE TRÄUME are inspired from my half-year stay in Munich during my residency at the Akademie die Bildende Künste, Munich - Schmuck and Gerät - prof. Karen Pontoppidan 2021-22.I came to a neighboring country and a city I thought I knew from my repeatedly visits during SCHMUCK week but I couldn’t find my way around at all. The architecture, the structure and the colors of the city were very different from my native Copenhagen and even though the Danish language is heavily influenced by German I did not understand a word. I was surprised by the way the fountains was covered up, the lack of Wi-Fi and the limited use of credit cards. SUVs, dirndls and lederhosen were seen all over the place and I was especially intrigued by the traditional Bavarian jewellery ‘the charivari’ and a lot of other stuff strange to me. It was a blast! - and to follow and being part of ‘die klasse’ at the academy was an amazing and inspiring experience. The residency was initiated and granted by the Danish Arts Foundation along with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ and the Ministry of Culture’s steering committee for Denmark’s international cultural exchange and during my stay,Queen Margrethe II of Denmark and her entourage visited Munich - the academy, prof. Karen Pontoppidan and me.The Queen of Denmark is nicknamed Daisy - partly because of her name (Margrethe means Daisy) and because of a flower brooch designed by goldsmith A. Michelsen to celebrate the birth of the princess. This brooch has become a classic in Danish the designer jewellery tradition. When I saw a scooter with a daisy imprint in pale blue - the Bavarian national color - parked in the street the outline of my new works occurred to me.The series have been shown at FRAME, ATTA Gallery, München, Schmuck 2023
